A DAY SPENT AT THE ATLANTIC ANTIC IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.

The Atlantic Antic is a street fair held yearly on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Estimated to be the second-largest annual gathering in Brooklyn after the Labor Day Carnival, the Antic features food stands, live music, exhibits, and entertainment for children. The fair runs for 10 blocks (about one mile) along Atlantic Avenue.

To put it in a nutshell it’s a very large street fair. Below are photos of the event that I had taken this past Sunday. The weather was cloudy and it did drizzle for a short moment, but it was the kind of drizzle that did not require an umbrella. Witch was good for I did not bring one. Plus I wanted to test out some new camera equipment that I had purchased a few days before, a lens hood, UV – Haze lens filter and a Pop-up shade for my camera display, which did come in handy when it started to drizzle. Overall it was a very good test run, trial. I would have given the new equipment a rating of A +.

I had a good time at the event and it’s one that I go to every year. With that all said here are the photos that I have taken of the Atlantic Antic.

Below are vintage buses once used by the New York City transit system on display.

Here is something one does not see anymore, advertisements for cigarettes on one of the vintage buses.

Here is a former logo that the transit authority once used.

I find it funny that the Atlantic Antic goes right past a detention complex. And there was plenty of police there, so if one does get into trouble they do not have far to go.

Live band playing in front of a local bar. (Hank’s Saloon)

Lots of food vendors as well.

Public display of martial arts.

A local church performing gospel.

And of course what’s a street fair with out a lots of people there.

And entertainment for children.

That’s all for now, my next big event that I plan to post will be the New York City Village Halloween Parade. Unless I discover something before hand.
