THE FOURTH OF JULY AND FDNY.

The fourth of July also known as “Independence Day” a day that reflects our American history. A day that we all enjoy by going to the beach, or a barbecue and maybe even check out some fireworks. Even for some people traveling to other locations to visit friends and family, or as well maybe going to a cemetery to visit the grave site of someone who fought for our freedom that we do at times take advantage of.

During the first part of my holiday weekend while walking around in Brooklyn New York I had literally turned the corner and walked right into an emergency situation. What had happened was a local pizza shop was opening up for its usual business and as they started the ovens to make their pizza’s some of the customers (a total of seven) started to feel ill. It was not from the food. It was from the extreme amount of gas and heat that was coming out from the ovens. Plus since the place was just opening up for the day, the interior was exceptionally warm as well.

Someone it seems called the fire department http://www.nyc.gov/html/fdny/html/home2.shtml And FDNY came quickly to examine the situation. No serious injuries or deaths thank goodness. Not a good way to start the holiday weekend for anyone. But it does make one glad that we have services like police and firemen that come to our aid all year around. The fourth of July is considered a holiday too many people. But at the same time many have died in the past so that we can all enjoy the freedoms that we all now have.

The photos below show the event of what happened that day. And to a small extent pay tribute to the brave men and women that keep us all safe and sound.
